i like this color, it's the color of my new purse, which is a pretty cool.
why don't I update this thing more often? maybe I need to get it more publicized then i would be more motivated to actually update it oftener (yes, i just made up the word).
i just returned from Nicaragua. I love that I can write quicker than I can write personal letters. I love getting personal letters, but writing lots of them (ok, i'm working on writing thank you's which encompasses lots of handwritten personal detailed letters) can be a little tedious and time consuming. in the end it shows that I really cared and appriciated the person, right?
Though this trip was filled with LOTS of travel--from Virginia we traveled to Washington, really ruffed it in a Best Western at the Pentagon, flew out of D.C to Florida where we waited for 4 hours, then flew from Florida to Managua. Our traveling didn't stop there. Once in Managua we traveled about 30 minutes to our hotel where we would meet up with our Tico (those from Costa Rica) friends for the evening. In the morning, we traveled a good hour to the port where we then boarded the Ferry that would take another hour till we reached the island, more traveling then, about an hour--did we think our traveling was done yet? Well we thought so, at least for the time that it took us to swim in the lake (that felt like bathwater)--we had ministry that evening at a church another hour from the hotel. :) Yeah for travel! ----and so, though it was filled with lots of travel, there was a lot of time for downtime and rest, time to really "Be still and know that I am God".
Ministry for me as one of the girls consisted of VBS in the mornings for 4 days, rest in the afternoon, and ministry using dance and puppets in the evening. The next four days, we stayed at a lovely Orphanage positioned again right on the water. Great times at the pavilion sitting in a hammock. Delightful. Here, we had VBS in the morning at the orphanage and VBS at a church about 20 minutes away in the afternoon. We continued with ministry as a group (with the Tico's) in the evenings to various different churches.
I know that seeds were planted on this trip and I'm sure we were such a blessing and and encouragement to Alan and Susan Killingsworth. It was really a nice trip.
In other news, I continue to work through the summer--Tuesday-Friday at the bookstore. I'm also geering up for another semester of school that starts August 21st.
I need to beging organizing and planning for me next week (and weeks to to come!) So many people to see, lots of things to complete and do...
